CMU student journalists visit TV5 Media Center

The journalism program of the City of Malabon University conducted a meaningful experience for its students, organizing a two-day studio tour at the TV5 Media Center on May 6 and 10.
Led by Prof. Jen C. Tan, Chair of the BA in Journalism Program, the tour aimed to immerse students in the dynamic realm of journalism.
Prior to the tour, the TV5 management conducted an orientation, enlightening students on protocol and expectations during their visit. Throughout the tour, students explored key areas of the network, including the broadcast studio of “Gud Morning Kapatid” and “One Balita Pilipinas,” 92.3 TrueFM’s radio booth, and the bustling News5 newsroom. They received hands-on demonstrations on studio equipment operation.
Some students had the privilege of joining Lourd de Veyra’s radio program, “Sana Lourd,” and even visited the set of the renowned noontime show, “Eat Bulaga.”
The highlight of the tour was the interaction with TV5’s renowned media personalities, including Luchi Cruz-Valdes, Ted Failon, Cheryl Cosim, Lourd de Veyra, Mj Marfori, and many others. These industry veterans shared invaluable insights and encouragement, igniting the students’ passion for journalism.
